Following on from our success as winners in the Early Exploration category last year, BookLife Publishing are thrilled to discover we have been shortlisted again for the Teach Company’s annual award, this year in the Happy and Healthy category.
Our CEO Nick Ison said “We are so pleased to have been shortlisted by this brilliant award for the second year running. The whole team at BLP are always working hard to make every book the next best book ever – it’s absolutely great to have that confirmed by the experts at the Teach Company!”
The Healthy Minds series was developed with support from leading national children’s charity Place2Be. The books have guidance for adult reading partners on how to explore the story in the book, plus questions to ask a young reader beginning to get to grips with their emotions. Designed to support teachers, parents and mental health practitioners when working with younger children, the next two levels of the series at key stage one and two explore mental health diagnoses in age-appropriate detail.
Author John Wood worked with the charity to create a series for Early Years practitioners featuring engaging characters exploring their emotions in a variety of creative situations.
“Working on this series was really fascinating, and combining the facts and information on mental health with the creativity of the stories was a new and exciting challenge for me. It feels great to have been shortlisted – we think this is a really important series and it’s great to know that these books are making it into the hands of mental health practitioners, teachers, and most importantly children all over the country.”
